We were proud to see Fund4Trees recognised recently for its developmental funding of the TDAG “Guide to Tree Species Selection for Green Infrastructure”.

The Guide was presented yesterday at an excellent TDAG seminar in London by Dr A. Hirons from Myerscough College and Dr. H. Sjoman from the Gothenberg Botanical Garden. Fund4Trees has been supporting Andrew Hirons’ work for the last to years – read more.
The Guide details landscape suitability and required site-specific attributes for over 300 tree species. It explores how we can improve species selection to provide towns and cities with diverse and resilient palette of trees that are capable of thriving in challenging urban environments. Due to be released in April 2018, this new TDAG guide will offer for the first time in the UK a comprehensive decision-making support tool for enhancing ecosystem services provision through tree species selection. Designed as a user-friendly searchable resources, the guide will provide research-based informations on characteristics, natural habitat, environmental tolerances, ornamental qualities, issues to be aware of, notable varieties and use potential of a wide range of tree species.
